2019 research by Two Sides found U.S. and Canadian consumers still love reading in print.
- 65% of Americans and 59% of Canadians say they prefer reading printed magazines to digital.
- 53% of Americans and 49% of Canadians say they prefer to read their news in print.
BUT THERE’S A PROBLEM…
Far too many people believe reading print on paper is bad for the environment. For example:
- 58% of consumers surveyed believe U.S. forests are shrinking – in fact, they’re growing in area by over 1,600 NFL football fields every day!
- Only 15% of Canadian consumers think the paper recycling rate is above 60% – it’s actually 70%, among the highest in the world.
